The presented work illustrates an examination for the adiabatic cutting of wire material. The objective is to achieve cut surfaces in good quality with relatively little effort of time and tool costs. An application of the high speed impact cutting (HSIC) for micro dimensions is investigated. Therefore an experimental study with varying diameters and cutting velocities is performed and the samples are analyzed regarding geometrical aspects.
